General roofing questions
How do I know if I need a roof replacement or just a repair?
If your roof is under 15 years old and the damage is isolated to one area, a repair is usually sufficient. If your roof is 20+ years old, has widespread shingle deterioration, multiple leak points, or significant storm damage, replacement is the better investment. We offer free inspections with an honest answer either way — we have no incentive to push you toward replacement when a repair would buy you several more years.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential roof replacements in Atlanta take one day. Larger or more complex roofs may take two days. Materials are delivered the night before, the crew works efficiently to minimize disruption, and we clean up completely before leaving.
How much does a new roof cost in Atlanta?
Residential roof replacements in Atlanta typically range from $8,500 to $28,000 depending on home size, roofing material, and roof complexity. Commercial projects vary widely by building size and roofing system. We provide written detailed estimates with no obligation.
What roofing materials do you recommend for Atlanta’s climate?
For Atlanta’s combination of heat, humidity, and severe-storm season, architectural shingles (30-year minimum) from Owens Corning or CertainTeed are our default residential recommendation. Excellent wind resistance, durability, and value. We’re an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a CertainTeed Master Shingle Applicator.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We work with several financing partners to help homeowners and property owners manage the cost of roofing projects. Ask about current options when you schedule your free estimate.
What warranty do you offer?
5-year workmanship warranty on all roofing installations — double the industry standard of 1-2 years. Manufacturer warranties on the materials themselves are 30 years to lifetime depending on the product.
Storm damage & insurance questions
Does insurance cover roof replacement in Atlanta?
In most cases yes, if the damage came from a storm event (hail, wind, fallen tree, sudden impact). Wear-and-tear and age are not covered. We’ve handled thousands of insurance claims since 2008 — see our full storm-damage process.
Will filing a roof claim raise my premium?
A single weather-related claim typically does not, because storm damage is considered an Act of God outside your control. Multiple claims in a short window or non-weather claims can affect rates. Ask your insurance agent directly if you’re concerned before filing.
How long do I have to file an insurance claim?
Most Georgia policies require notification within one year of the storm event, often 60 to 90 days for the smoothest claim. Check the Loss Notification section of your specific policy. File sooner rather than later.
Logistics & scheduling
Do I need to be home during the work?
Not strictly. The work happens on the exterior and we don’t need interior access unless there’s an active interior leak being traced through the attic. Many customers are at work when we’re on their roof. We send a photo-documented summary when the job is done.
How quickly can you start on a leak?
Active leaks: same-day or next-day tarp depending on weather. Non-emergency repairs: 1 to 2 weeks. Full replacements: 2 to 4 weeks depending on season.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, for any work that requires one. Permitting costs are included in our estimates, never added later.
When do I pay?
No payment until the work is complete and you’re satisfied. No deposits, no "lock-in" fees, no progress payments on standard residential work. On larger commercial or general-contracting projects, payment milestones are tied to specific completion stages and spelled out in the written quote.
